On April 16, 2002, the Executive Yuan asked the Ministry of Economic Affairs to establish the “Semiconductor Industry Promotion Office, SIPO” to coordinate, plan, promote and augment the development of the semiconductor industry in Taiwan.

【2012】SIPO was renamed “Smart Electronics Industry Promotion Office, SIPO”
SIPO started to help semiconductor companies stepping into MG+4C (Medical, Green, Car, Computer, Communication and Consumer) applications in 2011 and into IoT (Internet of Things) applications in 2016, and to promote industrial transformation and upgrading.
【2018】SIPO was renamed “Smart Electronics Industry Project Promotion Office, SIPO”
SIPO started to help semiconductor companies stepping into IoT (Internet of Things) and AI(Artificial Intelligence) applications in 2018, and to promote industrial transformation and upgrading.
